Thematic Presentations for the 2024 IAC Congress

The 2024 IAC Congress now welcomes proposals for presentations from the general public on the Congress theme: “Ceramics in the Mediterranean World: from Antiquity to Contemporaneity.”

This general theme will be split into two parts, matching the time periods addressed.

1. The first sub-theme is “Ceramic Confluences in the Mediterranean: A Historical View.”
2. The second sub-theme is “Ceramics in Contemporaneity: Reality, Relations and Confrontations in the Mediterranean World.”

PROPOSALS ARE DUE BY 30 MAY 2024
(Selected applicants will be notified by 14 June 2024)

Thematic Presentations are open to everyone.

Presentations must be no longer than 15 minutes, with an additional five minutes for a Q&A at the end (a total of 20 minutes maximum).

Presentations may be in any of the official Congress languages: English, French or Portuguese.

All presentations must be made in person. (Pre-recording will not be necessary.)

Application requirements:

• Full Name, Country of Residence, Professional title
• Title of presentation
• To which theme (1 or 2) the proposed presentation relates
• Text presenting the subject (in English or French, max 1500 characters)
• Short abstract summary for communication purposes (max 500 characters)
• 1-4 images to accompany the subject (if applicable, not mandatory)

A jury from the Programme Committee will select a maximum of 6 presentations for EACH sub-theme, for a total maximum of 12 presentations. In its selection, the jury will consider gender equity, country of residence, topic, and of course, relevance to the chosen sub-theme.
