  • Breakout Sessions: short IAC member presentations centered around personal research, recent work, new initiatives, new books, curatorial events, or other ceramic-related topics.

Conferences will be broken up with visits to local ceramic sites in both Alcobaça and Caldas da Rainha, including museums, factories and artist workshops.

Thursday will be devoted to an excursion to Lisbon to visit the National Azulejo Museum and the Gulbenkian Foundation.

General Assembly of IAC members

The 51st General Assembly of the members of the Academy will continue the conversations started two years ago at the Geneva Congress relative to the future of the IAC, its structure and functioning. Proposals voted upon in the 2024 GA will be the result of two years of hard work by the IAC Commissions.

The GA agenda will be announced in the summer Bulletin ahead of the Congress.

The 2024 IAC Congress & General Assembly will be held in English and Portuguese (with simultaneous translation from one language to the other).

Textual aids (presentation transcripts) of the conferences will be translated and made available to the Congress participants.
